Victory Field Events

Victory Field is a minor league baseball stadium in downtown Indianapolis. It opened in 1996 and serves as the home of the Indianapolis Indians, who are the triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The stadium is an important part of downtown Indianapolis and located in close proximity to the city’s other sports venues: Lucas Oil Stadium and Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Victory Field has been frequently recognized as one of the best minor league ballparks in the country.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Victory Field

As a smaller ballpark, most seats at Victory Field are relatively close to the field. Sections 111-113 will put you directly behind the home plate with the closest view of the action. Meanwhile, sections 209-211 will put you behind the plate but with a little bit of elevation to help you see the entire field. For a day game, sections 105-110 and 201-208 will put you on the third-base side of the stadium and help you avoid being in the sun the entire game. It’s also possible to sit on the lawn that sits beyond the outfield grass for a different perspective and the chance to catch a home run ball.

Tips for Visiting Victory Field

If you’re planning on sitting the lawn in the outfield, keep in mind that chairs and umbrellas aren’t allowed, so it might not be a great idea for a game in the middle of the day. However, the stadium does permit coolers that are smaller than 20 inches and don’t contain any alcoholic beverages. Also, if you visit Victory Field, you should take advantage of a concourse that forms a complete circle around the playing field, allowing you to walk around the entire stadium with ease and experience the game from every possible angle.

Foods to Try at Victory Field

As mentioned, it’s possible to bring your own food and drinks into the stadium if you have a small cooler. But there are also good in-stadium food options. Naturally, there are hot dogs, nachos, and chicken tenders, as you’ll find at every baseball stadium. However, Victory Field tries to take standard stadium fare to the next level. Fans can get upscale hot dogs like the veal brat or brisket chorizo or take advantage of the “Build A Burger” stand. Fans also have the option of purchasing a ticket in a part of the stadium known as “The Cove,” which is only open to adults but offers full service for fans who don’t want to leave their seats to get food.
