About Daughtry
Some rock bands struggle for years, but in the case of Daughtry, they were a smash hit from the beginning. Led by former American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry, the band’s debut album shot to the top of the Billboard charts. Since then, Daughtry has become one of the biggest rock bands in the world while selling countless albums and being nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. Of course, Daughtry is more than just a good studio band. They’ve performed at several high-profile events, including the Indianapolis 500 and an NFL game on Thanksgiving. More importantly, Daughtry have proven to be true road warriors, headlining several tours and reining their live act while becoming one of the best rock bands to see live in concert.
The Man in the Middle
Since the band is named after him, there’s no denying that Chris Daughtry is the straw that stirs the drink when it comes to the band Daughtry. Unlike so many participants on American Idol, Daughtry didn’t fade into the background despite falling a little short. His vocal range goes far beyond what most singers are capable of doing, and his unique singing style and voice have resonated with a wide range of audiences. With the right band behind him, Chris Daughtry went from runner-up on American Idol to a bonafide star, allowing him to collaborate with other artists and be part of the creation of one hit song after another.
Going Home
When all of the chapters of Daughtry’s history are written, the band is likely to have no greater or more memorable song than “Home.” It was their second single on their debut album but arguably the song that made fans gravitate to the band. Between Chris Daughtry’s voice and the lyrical content, it’s a song that will forever live in the mind of music lovers everywhere. It’s usually the song that Daughtry plays during its encore during every show, as it perfectly encapsulates who the band is and what they mean to fans. For everyone who gets to experience a live Daughtry performance, it’s the perfect way to end the show and alone makes it well worth the price of admission.
